Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect through KosherJapaneseWagyu.com (the “Site”), why we collect it, who processes it on our behalf, and the choices you have. This Site is intended for business audiences — importers, distributors, restaurants, hotels, retailers, foodservice buyers, partners, and investors.
1. Who we are
The controller responsible for your personal information is:
- Company name: Kosher Foods Japan Co., Ltd.
- Representative: Yuki Igarashi
- Address: 4-12-16 Kitaterao, Tsurumi-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture 230-0074, Japan
- Contact for privacy matters: [email protected]
Under Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information, we are required to make the name, address, and representative of the business operator available to you. They are set out above.
2. Scope
This policy covers only this Site. It does not cover third-party websites we may link to, or any separate commercial relationship you may enter into with us later, which will be governed by the agreement we sign with you.
3. What we collect
3.1 Information you give us
When you submit the reservation or inquiry form, we collect the fields you complete:
- Name
- Company
- Role / title
- Email address
- Country, and state / region
- Business type (e.g. importer, distributor, restaurant)
- Area of interest (e.g. priority reservation, distribution, investment)
- Estimated monthly volume
- Preferred contact method
- Anything you choose to write in the message field
Only the name and email address are required. Everything else is optional, and the form works without it.
3.2 Information collected automatically
Our hosting and content-delivery provider records standard server information when your browser requests a page — including your IP address, browser type and version, the pages requested, and the date and time. This is used to deliver the Site, keep it available, and defend against abuse.
3.3 Cookies and analytics
This Site sets no cookies — not for advertising, not for analytics, and not for anything else. You will not see a cookie banner here, because there is nothing to consent to.
We do use a privacy-focused analytics tool, Cloudflare Web Analytics, to see how many people visit the Site and which pages they read. It shows us aggregate figures only — such as page views, the countries visitors come from, and the sites that linked them to us. Cloudflare states that this tool “does not use any client-side state, such as cookies or localStorage, to collect usage metrics”, and that it does not “fingerprint” individuals via their IP address, User Agent string, or any other data for the purpose of displaying analytics. We cannot identify you from it, and we do not attempt to link it to anything you send us through the form.
We also load web fonts from a third party, which means your IP address is visible to that provider — see section 6.
4. Why we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and to record and manage priority reservations
- To contact you about supply availability, certification status, pricing, and next steps
- To evaluate distribution, partnership, or investor interest you have expressed
- To keep internal business records
- To detect and prevent spam, fraud, and abuse of the form
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for advertising purposes. We will not use it for a purpose unrelated to the above without telling you first.
5. Legal bases (where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies)
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we rely on the following legal bases:
- Steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract — when you submit a reservation or a commercial inquiry.
- Legitimate interests — to respond to business correspondence, keep records, and protect the Site from abuse.
- Consent — where we ask for it explicitly, including your consent to the international transfers described in section 6. You may withdraw consent at any time.
6. Service providers and international transfers
We are based in Japan. Because we ask for your consent to transfer your information outside Japan, Japanese law requires us to tell you three things: where it goes, what the data protection regime is in that country, and what the recipient does to protect it. Those are set out below.
6.1 Where your information goes
The providers below are located in the United States, except our website contractor, which is in Japan.
6.2 The data protection regime in the United States
The United States has no single, comprehensive federal data protection law equivalent to Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information or the EU’s GDPR. Protection instead comes from a combination of sector-specific federal laws, state laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act, and enforcement by the Federal Trade Commission against unfair or deceptive practices. There is no single independent supervisory authority equivalent to Japan’s Personal Information Protection Commission. United States law also permits public authorities to require access to data held by US companies in certain circumstances, including under the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act and the CLOUD Act. For transfers from the EEA, the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework provides an additional adequacy route for participating companies.
6.3 Who receives it, and what they do to protect it
- Google LLC (United States) — runs the small program that receives your form submission and sends it to us by email, and serves the web fonts used on this Site. Your submission is not stored in a separate database by a form service; it is passed straight into email. Google states that its cloud services are certified to ISO/IEC 27001, 27017 and 27018 and are covered by SOC 1, SOC 2 and SOC 3 reports, that its data processing terms incorporate the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, and that Google LLC is certified under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Your IP address is visible to Google when the fonts are loaded; we do not receive that data. If you would rather not have your IP address seen by Google, you can block third-party font loading in your browser; the Site remains readable without the fonts.
- Cloudflare, Inc. (United States) — hosting and content delivery for this Site, including the server logs described in section 3.2, and the cookieless visitor analytics described in section 3.3. Cloudflare states that it maintains ISO 27001, ISO 27701, ISO 27018, SOC 2 Type II and PCI DSS Level 1 validations, that its standard Data Processing Addendum is incorporated into its subscription agreement, and that it relies on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and its certification under the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework for international transfers.
- Shisto LLC (Japan) — the contractor that built this Site for us and operates the program described above on our instructions. Shisto is located in Japan, so no transfer outside Japan arises from its involvement.
The descriptions above are taken from each provider’s own published security and compliance statements as at 22 July 2026. They may change; we review them when we update this policy.
6.4 Your choice
By ticking the consent box and submitting the form, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United States for the purposes described in this policy. You do not have to. If you would prefer that your information is not transferred outside Japan by this Site, please email us directly instead of using the form — we will handle your enquiry the same way. You can withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us.
For submissions from the EEA or the UK, transfers are made on the basis of your explicit consent and, where applicable, the Standard Contractual Clauses operated by the providers named above.
7. How long we keep it
- In transit: your submission is delivered to us by email as soon as it is sent. It is not kept in a separate form database.
- In our own records (email and internal files): up to 24 months from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or we are required to keep it longer to comply with tax or commercial law.
- Server logs: retained by our hosting provider for a short period for security and operational purposes.
8. Your rights
Subject to the law that applies to you, you may ask us to:
- Confirm what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Delete your information, or stop using it
- Stop contacting you
- Withdraw a consent you previously gave
To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable period. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to complain to your local supervisory authority. In Japan, you may contact the Personal Information Protection Commission.
9. Security
The Site is served over HTTPS, and form submissions are transmitted over an encrypted connection. Access to submissions is limited to the people at our company who need it to respond to you. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please do not send us confidential or sensitive information through the form.
10. Children
This Site is directed at businesses, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our business and the Site develop. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we will make that clear on this page.
